Wadda's House Rules
Most staff are employed as general farm hands under the Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growing Award. Staff are expected to be prepared to assist in general farm duties as required. Some staff may work both in the processing factory and in the plantation during the work week.
Safe work practices are important to Wadda Plantation. Please ensure that you follow all work instructions carefully. If you are not sure how to do a task, please ask.
Unless management makes specific other arrangements, the work week is from 7:00 am to 4:30pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 7:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday.
Staff are expected to be reliable in their attendance at work. If an employee is unable to come to work, they must call Wadda on 4064 5233 before 10:00 am.
Wadda Plantation is an equal opportunity employer. All employees are treated on their merits, without regard to race, age, sex, relationship status or any other factor not applicable to the position. Employees are valued according to how well they perform their duties, and on their ability to maintain Company standards of service.
The Company believes that all employees should be able to work in an environment free of discrimination, victimisation, sexual harassment and vilification. We consider these behaviours unacceptable. They will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Any reports of discrimination, victimisation, sexual harassment and vilification will be treated seriously and investigated promptly, confidentially and impartially.
Wadda Plantation also has an environmental management system. Each employee should take note of the policy (found here) and carry out their part in minimising environmental impacts from banana production at Wadda.
